Traditional Thai Massage dates back 2,500 years ago developed by Buddhist monks in Thailand as a healing modality. Thai Massage is a beautiful powerful combination of massage, acupressure, reflexology, stretching, twisting and gentle pressure along the body’s energy lines to increase flexibility, relieve muscle and joint tension and balance the body’s energy systems. It is both deeply relaxing and energizing.
Thai massage is usually done on a padded mat on the floor. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are usually asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage.
A typical Thai massage is 60 minutes to two hours long.
Thai massage has its roots in Buddhist teachings, and its purpose is to heal a person physically, emotionally and spiritually. Thai massage begins with a meditative prayer called Puja to offer loving kindness and good wishes opening the heart of both giver and receiver.
"May you be happy. May you be healthy.
May you live with an ease of heart."
